New regulations for ecological and environmental damage compensation fund management are released

The Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, State Forestry and Grassland Administration, Supreme People's Court, and Supreme People's Procuratorate recently jointly issued the "Measures for the Management of Ecological and Environmental Damage Compensation Funds (Trial)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Measures"). According to the Measures, ecological and environmental damage compensation funds, as non-tax government revenue, shall be centrally collected into the national treasury and fully remitted to the national treasury at the corresponding level of the designated department or institution of the compensation claimant, and shall be included in the general public budget management.
